Stella's Laziest Chewing EVER

So I asked Stella to star in a video showing off her awesome stuffy chewing skillz on her stuffingless stuffy that has managed to last her a FULL TWO WEEKS!!!! Stella totally agreed because she knew the video was going to be seen by Murphy Dogg, who is Stella's favouritist punk rock dogg and who also possesses superior stuffie destroying skills.

But when I actually clicked record on the camera, this is the chewing she did. I just don't think her heart was in it, what do you think? Maybe it was the music in the background, too relaxing maybe? Or maybe I have it all wrong, she is actually being quite precise and methodical. All this chewing is part of her master plan.

Here is a photo of my adorable Boston with her favourite stuffingless stuffy toy (It's a bunny), the same one in the above video:

Stella Celebrates Gay Pride Week in Toronto

Stella may not be gay but she has been known to hump a leg or two which, in her mind anyway, makes her a just a little bit butch. And when she heard it was pride week here in Toronto, she just HAD to join in the festivities. So she donned her rainbow cape (which she got free from HomeSense) and Super Butch personna and headed off to Toronto's world famous Gay Pride Parade.

OMD, Stella had so much fun.
She woofed and cheered at some outrageous floats and costumes:

She met awesome people:

And when the PFLAG (Parents for Lesbians and Gays) marchers came in to view waving their "Proud of Our Gay Children" signs, I swear I saw Stella tear up a little.

Stella was also really excited to see the Canadian Armed Forces, Police Department, Fire Department, NDP, Green Party and Toronto Councillors out showing their support for Toronto's Gay community. It is nice to know that Toronto does not just spout off about diversity and acceptance, we can actually go ahead and practice what we preach. Yay Pride week!

Stella's Woofstock 2008 photos

As promised, Stella would like me to post some photos and tell some stories from her awesome time at Woofstock 2008 in Toronto last weekend.

To start the weekend off, Stella got a tattoo that matches mine. Unlike mine, her's is not permanent. How cool do we look?

After the tattoo session, Stella and I were so excited to see some exotic animals like this kinkajou:
And this hairless kitty cat:

We also saw about a fofillian awesome cool doggies:

We even saw a puppy that looked just like a teddy bear:

Stella, the spoiled puppy, got SO MUCH free stuff that it is crazy. We took the following photo of her loot and then put it all away only to turn around and find that we had a WHOLE other bag!!! Here is about 2/3's of her free stuff:

And that is just some of the cool stuff my Stella Bella experienced last weekend! Stella is already dreaming about attending Toronto's Woofstock 2009. Hopefully we will find some more interesting things to occupy her attention and time until then.

Stella at WoofStock

Stella is about recovered from her weekend adventures at Woofstock so she will be able to pick which photos she wants me to post soon. In the mean time, I found this AWESOME photo online taken at Woofstock (of Stella Bella of course).

The photographer is Miles and he has more photos from Woofstock (of doggies almost as cute as Stella) posted on the Torontoist. I LOVE the water shots.

Back from vacation. We really moosed you.

Okay, that was a nerdy title but Stella and I are tired from driving so much so we are not feeling very creative.

Anyway, Stella's new best friend this weekend (and from her road trip) is this thing:

A ginormous moose. Stella did not even mind that he smelled like he had not had a bath in forever.

She liked him because he was the strong silent type. He really listened to her problems, like how she was running low on her favourite treats and did not think she would get home in time.

Up, up and away magic moosey! take me to my treats...and comfy bed. I am so tired and grumpy.

Stella Loves Chris Jericho

Stella made about a fofillian new best friends this week because she walked 5kms to help raise money for the Kids Help Phone. Her new bestest friend though is definitely Chris Jericho from WWE.

Chris Jericho helped kick off the Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone by revving up the crowd and standing in front of the blue start ribbon. Well Stella is not shy and thought she should help pump up the walkers too. Plus she thinks Chris Jercicho is totally hot and she now wants to watch WWE all the time. She practically threw herself in his arms for a photo opp, the cheeky girl. His manager lady did not look too impressed although Jericho did not seem to mind.

Stella's Word of the Week: Lambaste

LAMBASTE \lam-BAYST\, transitive verb:

1. To give a thrashing to; to beat severely.

2. To scold sharply; to attack verbally; to berate.

Stella stealthily hides behind the giant tire, patiently awaiting the opportunity to lambaste her arch nemesis, this yucky old swan.

"I am going to tear this bird a new swan hole."

Stella Loves the Toronto FC, too!

And that is why her new best friend this weekend was This Guy:

This Guy has his own Boston at home named Tux so he was totally cool when Stella stuck her tongue right in his mouth. Apparently it's a Boston thing...isn't it?

Stella’s Word of the Week: Pugnacious

Stella’s word of the week is:

PUGNACIOUS: puhg-NAY-shuhs\, adjective
Inclined to fight; combative; quarrelsome

The pair of swans who originally displayed a haughty indifference toward Stella have now revealed a truly pugnacious character. As soon as the swans see Stella out for her daily walk along the boardwalk, they immediately swim toward her, hissing and spitting in attempt to engage her in mortal combat.

"Take off eh, you hoser!"

Thanks Dictionary.com. Stella loves u.

Stella Bella the Canadian Idol Wannabee

So Stella heard that Canadian Idol audition had made its way to Toronto and she immediately decided she wanted to go try out.
I tried to talk her out of it.

"First of all Stella, even if you do manage overwhelm the judges with your adorable-ness to the point that they all overlook the fact that you are, well, not actually human, they won't like your song choice .... Yes, I do think that you do a great rendition of Ludacris' You's a Ho but I don't think they will like that much profanity. It's a family show, you see ... "

Despite my objections, Stella sprayed on her best doggie cologne, which is actually just a nice smelling conditioner for her skin and coat because I refuse to buy actual doggie cologne, and headed off first thing Saturday morning to auditions. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photo below, Stella was a little confused. The poor girl went to the wrong stage.

Stella sat very pretty waiting for her audience to show up but no one came. I did sit down and offer to listen but I think Stella thought I was patronizing her.

So we left the stage and headed over to the boardwalk. Luckily Stella is an "out of site, out of mind" kinda pup and was immediately distracted from her troubles by a big stick that needed to be chewed into two pieces.

My Bloggy Doggy: Princess on Queen.

Stella Bella was out and about on Queen Street in the Toronto Beaches yesterday – or, as The Man says we are supposed to call it now, The Beach.

Stella made a ton of new best friends. One of her bestest new best friends is Angel the Cat.

As you can see in the picture, sometimes love is not reciprocated but Angel’s quiet distaste for Stella did not bruise her ego at all. Stella just went on with her shopping.

Stella loves shopping, even if it is just to help Mambomama (that is not me, btw) buy a new deadbolt to help keep out crazies. Luckily for Stella, the staff at Rona Hardware in The Beaches The Beach is very dog friendly.

The staff are not, however, very flash photography friendly. In fact if you take a picture of the staff at Rona, she is likely to hurl herself to the ground and start having convulsions. I know this because she explained it to Stella, Mambomama and me, not because it actually happened. Luckily, I have a pretty good camera and the place is well lit so we did not need to use a flash.

So, in conclusion, if you go to Rona Hardware in The Beaches (screw you The Man) do not take flash photography, take a dog ...and keys if you need any copies cut.

Stella's Word of the Week: Nefarious

Anyone who knows anything knows that Stella has street smarts. She is out roaming the streets every day (sometimes three times a day) marking her territory. Plus all the dogs in the neighbourhood want to roll with her, it's true. She has some serious street cred.

Of course, Stella would like to prove she is more than just a bad dog with a good attitude so we are introducing Stella's word of the week (which gets emailed everyday to the inbox from dictionary.com but, whatever, it still counts).

Stella's word of the week is:

NEFARIOUS: \nuh-FAIR-ee-uhs\, adjective

Wicked in the extreme; iniquitous.

Without a second thought, Stella will fearlessly charge a gang of nasty pigeons, her sworn enemy, in an effort to break up their and nefarious scheming and plotting. She is not sure what it is they are plotting or for whom but she knows those jerks are up to something.

Stella sitting pretty without a pigeon in site. Good job Stella.

Stella Makes Friends with a Captain

Stella's new best friend this weekend was Captain John.

Now Stella Bella is not a dummy, she has heard the rumours about Captain John's fish not being quite so fresh. Along with a heart of gold, though, Stella also has a stomache of iron. During park walks in her earlier days, Stella has eaten twigs, dirt, rocks, goose poop and cigarette butts with barely any damage (what is $1200 in vet bills anyway?). She is sure she will be able to eat Captain John's without any long term damage at all. Yay Stella!

Stella also met this little cutie pie on the weekend:
Stella wanted to play with him pretty bad but he was a scaredy-pup. Finally! Stella has found a dog afraid of her....of course the pretty puppy is only four months old but let's not take this moment away from Stella.

Stella Meets Toronto Water Taxi Driver. Yay Stella!

Stella's new best friend this week is Nicholas. Stella is sitting very pretty for the sake of this picture but it was only for a second. As soon as the photo was snapped, she was back to mauling Nicholas.

Nicholas is originally from Nova Scotia and he now owns the water taxi that goes back and forth between the Toronto Habour and Toronto Centre Island. I am very jealous of Stella right now because Nicholas told Stella that she can ride his water taxi for free anytime. This is great news for Stella because she LOVES to spend time on Centre Island in the summer. The rest of us suckers have to pay but it is worth it. Centre Island is awesome and, according to Stella, so is Nicholas!

Stella on the Toronto Harbourfront

Stella made a lot of new best friends this last week. She gave kisses to an elderly lady who used to have a Boston that looked just like Stella. She played briefly with a couple of young boys in the park and she met a Mini Pinscher named Mocha. He was much more stylishly dressed that Stella but not as well behaved. Stella could not decide if Mocha was trying to play with her or bite her. She could understand his dilemma because she had the same problem earlier in the week, only with birds.

Stella tried to make best friends with a couple of swans but they would have nothing to do with her. She barked and barked and she assumed the proper play stance position but still the swans ignored her like she was a D list celebrity with a failing reality show. It is probably for the best. Even though the swans outnumbered her 2-1 and were twice her size, given half the chance, Stella would have eaten them and everyone they loved. F###ing Swans.
