Happy Holidays and Happy 2009!!!

Stella and I had an awesome Christmas. We both got lots of prezzies and ate tons of food! First the BF, Stella, and I went to Mambo Mamma's and brother's on Christmas morning. Then we all high tailed it back to our place. I cooked while Stella opportunistically cleaned the kitchen floor, which was fun for both of us. The BF set up and played Rockband and Kitty mostly hid in various spots around the condo. Mambo Mamma and brother came over for dinner and we all ate too much!!! We will post photos of Stella enjoying Christmas soon.

New Years was mostly AWESOME for me and, at first, it was great for Stella. Kitty pretty much alternated between hiding and demanding attention from guests. Then the countdown began and the noisemakers came out. Stella was not sure if she enjoyed that part. She was curious but a little nervous so she took a time out in the bedroom while she made up her mind.

I thought Kitty would hide through the noise of the countdown - that is what she usually does when she hears loud noises - but I underestimated how upset she would get. I especially thought she would stay pretty mellow because her epilepsy was acting up earlier in the day so we had to give her double dosage of her pheno. This should have helped her stay mellow...only it didn't.

Once the noise makers and cheering started, Kitty jumped right out of her favourite hiding spot and started running like a crazy cat all over the condo. Being stoned, her coordination and reflexes suck so she was banging into things and people. We were trying to direct her into the bedroom so she could hide in the dark and calm down before she killed herself. Can you imagine 15 drunk people trying to herd in insane little kitty into a bedroom? Of course, as soon as the bedroom door was open, Stella joined in the chase (Stella believes it is her personal duty to chase and corner Kitty whenever she is in trouble). I was so worried about the Kitty getting hurt, I did not realize how stupid funny the whole thing looked. Luckily, crisis was averted when we managed to herd her into the washroom, where (Stella and) I stayed with her and calmed her down. She was back to purring in about 15 minutes and there were no broken bones or poked out eyes....whew!

I never would have expected Stella to get nervous and Kitty to freak out. Especially because both Stella and Nellie are fine in Thunderstorms, when they hear fireworks, and around large groups of people. I guess I will know better for next time. Sigh.

Summer is Ending. Sigh.

Stella is a trying not to get in a blue funk now that summer is over and it is that wet, grey, in-between summer and winter time. Luckily Stella did a lot of awesome cool things this summer that she can think about to cheer her up.

Stella's New Best Friend: Amy

Stella made a new best friend this summer. Stella's new best friend is Amy, a tiny BT in our building. She looks just like Stella except miniature version. While Amy's parents went on vacay, we got to keep Amy at our place for a full week, it was awesome! When we were out walking, everyone thought that Stella was Amy's mom. Amy is actually older than Stella by six months, though. She is just a tiny BT!
Here is Stella hanging out with her new best friend, Amy:

Unfortunately, Amy and her parents moved out of the building this weekend but they are not far so I am sure that Amy and Stella will be seeing a lot of eachother. I will try very hard not to steal Amy.

Stella's Top 8 NickNames

Today's blog entry is inspired by the Ladypug Mugs blog. Not long ago, Clementine and Winston listed their nicknames and Stella thought to herself "Hey, I have some awesome cool nicknames!!!" Then she decided I should list them.

So, at Stella's request, here are Stella's "other" names. They are:

1. Stella Bella

2. Stinky

3. Stinky Stella

3. Nut Ball

4. Stumpy

5. Stumpy Butt

6. Pretty

7. Killer

8. Stella Ella Ola (Qwack Qwack Qwack)

So there they are. Stella's super cool nick names as given to her by her family, bestest friends and one guy she kind of tolerates.

UPDATE:

Stella now wishes me to add two more nicknames, as bestowed upon her by her Boston buddies, Mack and Murphy. So here they are:

9. Stella Ella Bella Della (as per Mack)

10. Stella Stels (as per Murphy)

Awesome! Eight is a sucky number for a list to have, ten is way better.

Stella Bella is FED UP. No more kitty seizures or ELSE

So Stella loves pretty much everyone and everything (except dirty, grimey swans and some nefarious gangs of pigeons but who can blame her for that). Stella especially loves her roomie, Nappy Nellie. Except lately Nellie has really been trying Stella's patience.
The little dummy kitty has been in and out of the hospital, blowing through Stella's stuffie, chewie and treat money, not to mention her gets-to-stay-at-grammas-and-eat-tons-of crap-that-Nanette-would-never-feed-her-but-isn't-there-to-stop-her-because-she-is-another-country-with-her-bf money.

Last week, all was forgiven, though, because Nellie was home and supposedly better. Stella even let it slide that she was kicked out of her own home because Nellie bit a couple of vet technicians while in the hospital and so the health inspector "quarantined" her home. No people or pets were allowed around Nappie Nellie for 10 whole days (We may or may not have broken that rule once or twice). But even Stella couldn't blame Nellie for that one. I mean, she was having seizures, she didn't know what she's doing! She has her rabies shots so what the hell?...but I digress. Back to Stella

So the health inspector came and left and all was good. Except. Except right after the health inspector left (the same guy who inspects our condo pool, inspected our cat), Nellie started seizuring AGAIN! So back to emerg.

Nappy Nellie at emergency. Again.

Three days later, Nellie is home again, high as a purring kite, with a different combination of meds and a freshened up redonkulous hair cut. Well Stella is about fed up. Everyone is really tired and the cat is getting A LOT more attention than Stella Bella. Plus, 4 times a day, the cat gets medicine (which Stella is convinced is just a fancy, expensive word for treats).

Nappy Nellie better NOT have any more seizures. Or Else. Stella means it. Grrrr.

Stella's proof that everyone is tired. And that the cat is getting more attention then her.

Grrrrrr.

Stella's Missing her Room Mate.

Stella's roomate and bestest friend ever (although the feelings are not necessarily reciprocated), Nappy Nellie (an adorable kitty), is feeling way under the weather. It has prevented me from writing about Stella's latest antics and happenings because we are all so worried about Nellie. She has been in and out of the vets for a couple of weeks but she is currently in the ICU of an emergency hospital which is where she has been for a couple of days. . I do not really want to write much about it on Stella's blog because it might depress her and then she will look at me with googly eyes and a pouty mouth and that, in my weakened state, will likely cause me to give her too many treats.

I might write a post about Nappy Nellie on Nanette's Dog Blog soon. Feel free to check there but in the mean time, don't worry, Stella is still having fun and doing lots of cool stuff. We will post about her latest happenings soon.

Stella's New Best Friend from Woofstock

Stella met so many cool people and animals at Woofstock 2009 in Toronto that it was difficult to choose a new best friend for the week.

After much consideration her new best friend this week was this guy:

He let Stella sit in his shady booth and he scratched her neck until I told her it was time to go, which was awesome. It was so hot and sticky out, she really needed that break!

Stella at WoofStock

Stella is about recovered from her weekend adventures at Woofstock so she will be able to pick which photos she wants me to post soon. In the mean time, I found this AWESOME photo online taken at Woofstock (of Stella Bella of course).

The photographer is Miles and he has more photos from Woofstock (of doggies almost as cute as Stella) posted on the Torontoist. I LOVE the water shots.

Top 10 Reasons Stella's Vacation Was the Best Ever (reasons 1 to 5)

Stella insisted I post more photos of her awesome roadtrip/vacation. I explained to her that I was not gtoing to willy-nilly go posting all of her pics so she organized them into a top 10 list. That is a lot of pics to upload so we will start with one thru five today.

Stella's Top 10 Reasons her Roadtrip Was the Best Ever:

1. She got to spend so much time off leash in really fun places.

2. So many people, at least eleventy billion, played fetch with her:

3. She found a doggy food buffet at her granny's house:

4. She got to ride on a ferry:

5. Stella got to walk on Canada's longest suspension bridge (which was only scary when the kid jumped up and down on it and made it wiggle):

Stella will reveal the second half of her list next week, after Woofstock. If she can narrow it down to just five more, that is!
